What is the water temperature of the pool?
The pool is kept at a constant 82 degrees fahrenheit. Under certain circumstances it may fluctuate +/- a few degrees.
Are members permitted to use the diving boards?
Every member who has passed the deep water test is allowed to use both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards.
What is the deep water test?
The test includes swimming one length (25 yards) of the pool followed immediately by treading water with the head completely above the surface for up to one minute. During the test, the swimmer is permitted to use any stroke.
Do I have to swim laps when I come to the pool?
No, there is a designated family/non-lap swimmer section of the pool for those who do not wish to swim laps.
If I purchase a membership in December do I receive half off?
The membership season runs from June 1 through May 31 of the next year. Memberships are not prorated, however people purchasing memberships after January 1st will receive a 50% discount.
What is the definition of a Family Membership?
Family members include the spouse or domestic partner and immediate dependents of the applicant who are permanently living in the applicants residence.
Where can I purchase guest passes?
Guest passes may be purchased for $5.00 each at the Recreation Center across the parking lot from the Aquatic Center. Guest passes are not sold at the Aquatic Center.
How many guests can I bring?
You are allowed to bring two guests per member.
How many people can be included in a family membership?
The parents and children of the named family on the membership application. All family members listed must be dependents who live with the applicant.
What chemicals are used to keep the water clean?
Liquid chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) at a level of 1.5 – 2.5 ppm is use to disinfect the water. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is used to keep pH at a constant 7.5. Both levels are controlled automatically by a Strantrol System 5 Chemical Controller.
Are members and guests permitted to use the kickboards, pull buoys and aqua joggers?
Yes, you are allowed to use them as they are designed to be used, NOT FOR FLOATATION DEVICES.
Are members allowed to use personally owned special floatation devices?
Yes, under two conditions. As long as they are properly approved water devices and permission is granted by the on duty lifeguard.
